Seminar Programme

All Local Authorities, ALMOs and RSLs need to manage housing stock and keep track of costs. However, while most are beginning to see the need for dedicated Programme and Performance Management (‘PPM’) solutions many are not quite sure how it fits in with their other solutions to deliver strategic programmes.

PPM solutions can rationalise and integrate Partner and Contract Management solutions and establish a robust and consistent management regime. This can be adopted by all internal and external Partners to provide ‘real time’ monitoring information and help improve planning and management of the overall Capital Investment Programme.

Many organisations use a variety of Excel spreadsheets and other standalone systems to generate their Programmes of work. This is fine for small programmes, but what happens when a massive programme of work such as Decent Homes is required? Typically this brings a step change in the number of projects, contractors and investment. Changes and updates need to be communicated; the Asset Management, Housing Management and Financial systems need to be kept up to date to ensure that everyone is working with the latest figures and timescales.

With larger programmes, more change and tighter audit and performance management requirements, the spreadsheets and standalone systems become unmanageable, out of date and difficult to maintain. This is where a commercial Programme Management solution is vital and provides added value, as well as helping organisations get the most out of their existing systems.

Delcam is running a Spring seminar series which will present and discuss the importance of positioning Programme Management and how it can be integrated with Housing Management, Asset Management and Financial solutions.

Frances Hipple, a senior consultant from Public Sector Consultants NCC Group will present on "Transformation through Information" and the value of information. NCC Group provides consultancy services to over 15,000 clients globally across the private, public and not for profit sectors, including many in the social housing sector.

LB Barking & Dagenham will present a case study on the issues that led to their decision to procure a Programme Management system and will show how PS-Team fits in with their suite of software and the value that it has provided,

John Stuttard, Director at Tribal Consulting will also be presenting a review of the usage of systems in Social Housing improvements programmes. This will include current research on Programme & Performance Management systems and the recently published Housemark report on Housing Management and Asset Management systems. Tribal is a leading UK provider of consulting and professional support services. It helps a wide range of clients - over 2,500 in the public sector alone - improve the quality of their services to customers.

The seminars are free of charge for Public Sector delegates and will also provide the opportunity to network and share best practice.
